How is emphysema diagnosed?
To make an accurate diagnosis, your physician will consider many factors, including a review of your symptoms, your medical history, your family history and a review of any smoking habits you have or have had in the past.
He or she may also administer some of the following:
- Chest x-ray
- CT scan
- Pulmonary function test
- Blood gas analysis
