Regenerative medicine is a new and changing field within the health care industry. Discoveries in clinical research are expanding the availability of treatment options for people who are suffering from chronic, incurable conditions.
Because regenerative medicine is still emerging in the public consciousness, it’s not surprising that many doctors lack the information they need to recommend treatments like cellular therapy to patients who have chronic lung disease. Not all medical school programs teach regenerative medicine, and many doctors and pulmonologists are not actively following research and advancements in the field.
At Lung Health Institute, one of our goals is to educate patients and physicians about how cellular therapy works and how it can benefit people with chronic lung disease. We adhere to several standards that set us apart from other clinics offering regenerative medicine services.
Below are 4 practices Lung Health Institute follows to ensure we are offering a safe and effective treatment to our patients.
1. We Employ Board-Certified Physicians
All Lung Health Institute physicians are board-certified and skilled professionals in the field of medicine. Additionally, our doctors have received specialized training in regenerative medicine for lung disease. 2. We Maintain High Standards for Patient Care
All Lung Health Institute clinics maintain The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval®. The Joint Commission is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that accredits hospitals, ambulatory care centers and other health care institutions worldwide. The Gold Seal is an internationally recognized symbol of excellence in the provision of patient care and health care services. Our clinics consistently meet and maintain the rigorous standards for safe, high-quality patient care set by The Joint Commission.
3. We Track and Document Patient Outcomes
All Lung Health Institute patients receive follow-up communications and surveys from our staff for up to 1 year after treatment. We track and document patient outcomes to ensure that we are providing an effective treatment that results in meaningful improvements in patients’ quality of life. We evaluate both forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) scores and quality-of-life improvements before and after patients receive cellular therapy.
4. We Provide a Solution That Can Help Treat Chronic Lung Disease
If you are suffering from chronic lung disease, cellular therapy may be able to help. During the treatment process, our clinicians will take a small venous blood draw that contains platelet-rich plasma-platelet concentrate (PRP-PC). The blood is transferred to the on-site lab, where the PRP-PC is separated and isolated. The concentrated cells are returned through an IV, and the heart sends them directly to the lungs via the Pulmonary Trap™. Once these cells are trapped in the lungs, they attack the root cause of lung disease: chronic airway inflammation. In clinical studies, PRP-PC is linked to anti-inflammatory effects.
